I have sleep very well. The nerves, which I have, I have parked for one night. It didn't take long for breakfast, checkout and approach the Buenos Aires Airport (the city's domestic airport).

I was there Josep, as calm as I guess the whole trip will be. We have already baptized him as "Can I have a beer, a portion of potatoes and a passage for Antarctica?"And it is that Josep, one of my 3 adventure companions, decided his trip practically that way ..." Put it on please, that I take it, do I pay it already? ". Josep is 54 years old, is Barcelona has already been traveling for several days (by Salta, Igazu, etc ...) I check after plasticizing the suitcase (30 ARS) and check in, having a coffee with him, who is a friendly and cordial person. He has traveled the world ( or more I would say.) I think I'll have a good time with him ...

He Journey to Ushuaia takes 3 hours and a half. Just take off, from the plane you can see the brown Rio de la Plata but soon, the clouds appear. I think, I read, I meditate ... I pass in a plis plas ... suddenly we come down from the clouds ... !!! IT IS THE BEAGLE CHANNEL !! It is impressive just to see it ... it looks like an oil raft ... and in the background, the beautiful city of Usuahia tucked between the snowy mountains ...

Josep and I headed to Hotel Mil810 (COMPLETE ARTICLE ON ACCOMMODATION HERE), where he is already waiting for us Manel, who accompanies us to eat something. Manel is also Catalan and is 47 years old. Your best definition would be "you have to kick it, I kick it and it has been almost 1 month of travel, making impressive trekkings through Torres de Paine and places in Argentina. He was very glad to see us. He's going to be my roommate, and I think we're going to make very good crumbs ...

As soon as we eat (67 ARS), we take advantage of the day by going for a walk through the lively Ushuaia, which has taken out the sun to receive us. It also has a good temperature, about 6ºC. The first thing to visit is The Presidio Museum.

Formerly it was the prison of Usuahia, and it is here that all the prisoners who were not wanted in other places were sent. Anyway, today I will not tell you much about culture ...

Next to the museum, there is the only newly opened cinema in Ushuaia, where they open New Moon. It is a "cucada" of cinema, and the truth that Manel's idea of going to see a movie here is attractive, but the idea of a good dinner and a good conversation is imposed on me. Here with my teammates Josep (left) and Manel (right)

There we said goodbye and I follow my destination to the promenade area. The day is beautiful, and I can see how the ships load, preparing them for hard routes. The Molchanov has not yet arrived ...

Usuahia It is the capital of the province of Tierra de Fuego and South Atlantic Islands. It was founded on October 12, 1884 by Augusto Laserre and is located on the shores of the Beagle Channel surrounded by the Martial mountain range (beautiful and snowy), in the Usuahia Bay. It is considered the MOST AUSTRAL CITY of the world (although it could be said that practically, since there is a little inhabited Chilean city somewhat below).

I continue my way to the port. The day is beautiful, and I am already equipped. Anyone would say that yesterday I was at 33ºC in Colonia de Sacramento and now I am with 25 degrees less, a polar, an alaska and all kinds of hats and clothes in the backpack ...

From there I throw towards the main shopping and souvenir street, San Martín Street, and I urgently need a hat with earmuffs (38 ARS) and a toothbrush that was broken this morning (15 ARS). Are we all Well, pal hotel, to meet our third component of the expedition ...

Angela It is also Catalan, although as she says, Andalusian roots. She is 42 years old and is the true cheerleader of the group. It is all energy and vitality. In fact we have already nicknamed it as "the enthusiast"A while ago he had a motorcycle accident that left a leg touched, and for that it was a before and after in his life. As she says, life has changed and will not miss any opportunity to live it , theory that I totally agree with. Anyway, anyone would say he had an accident, it is vitality in its purest form. Since he arrived in Usuahia he has not stopped, that if Martial Glacier, that if PN Tierra de Fuego, that if Beagle Channel ... I think I'm going to get along with her a lot because it's very similar to mine ...

As Manel has gone to the movies, Josep, Angela and I have gone to dinner at the famous restaurant Back in front of the Beagle Channel, with beautiful views. It is a very traditional and very cozy tavern. We have tried the famous black hake, the channel crabs and a good chorizo steak (100 ARS).

In addition, we have laughed a lot with the anecdotes of each one, especially one of Angela and her experience with a tour guide, but if the story eternalizes me and tomorrow I get up early ... so I promise to tell it on the way back ...

Family, readers, friends and company, as always, I am very well. I'm already in the room of Hotel Mil810 (COMPLETE ARTICLE ON ACCOMMODATION HERE), packing, nervous (I'm not going to cheat you) and looking out the window in the evening of the city. I observe in the distance the beautiful Beagle Channel. Can you imagine going beyond it, crossing the Drake Pass to Antarctica? There, where so many ships have sunk and so many legends have left their name ... There it is, I could almost touch it ... So close and yet so far ... the closest I've ever been to this immense and fascinating CONTINENT ICE CREAM

Isaac (and the rest of expeditionaries) from Usuahia (Argentina)
