The best of Rome to visit

It has been a few days since we returned from Rome and we have been eating again every day.

It is not the first time I went to Rome, I had already been in 94 and 95 with friends and family. Perhaps Rome, despite mass tourism, still knows how to keep that Latin and warm character that resembles us so much to Italians and how well it welcomes us. But above all, the enormous history that this city absorbs means that there are visits that transport you directly to ancient times and embauque you on a trip to the past.

THANKS:

Thanks to Elias Badenes (our old friend of Castellon) for allowing us to have this WEB and his help to make it work. Thanks to the Isaac's family (Mommy, Daddy, Grandmothers, Tom) and to all who did not write but we know they are there and have read us.

! UP TO THE NEXT TRIP !!!

Isaac, from Rome (Italy)

WE DIDN'T LIKE:
- He mass tourism, although for everything there are tricks, especially early. Cobblestones, yes yes, very beautiful, but ... !!! LIKE CANSA !! - Expensive, despite being much more affordable than before but Rome is still a very expensive city.
PICHÍ-PICHÁ:
- Public transport, Bad for a city like Rome. Badly connected by subway and very full buses. It saves him that it is "free" (UPDATE: between "quotes" because if a reviewer comes up and catches you it is € 100 as the traveler Pilar tells us in her comments, although in reality almost nobody "tickee") - Pantheon, it's awesome but we saw it in bad time- Castel S'Angel, nice but very deteriorated ...
WE LOVED IT:
- Water sources, all over Rome- Fiore Field and Metastasium,! often ambientazo !! both for dinner and for staying- Borguese Villa, although he left us exhausted, taking a nap there is priceless- Piazza Spagna, Popolo, Venice and Navona, great and lively- The cool beer time, there is nothing better than taking one in a quiet square or alley- Cruise on the Tiber, It is not the one in Paris or London but it is very advisable- Trastevere, its streets, its restaurants, its atmosphere… !! picturesque !!…
ESSENTIAL / ONCE IN LIFE:

FONTANA DI TREVI
Essential at least once in a lifetime
Throwing a coin ensures you return ...
… and why not? make a wish
Architecturally wonderful ...
... although very crowded

THE ROMAN NIGHT, ITS STREETS
Dine in any of its streets ... a luxury!
Picturesque roads illuminated throughout the city.
Ambientazo in every corner or every square
The whole city illuminated ...
... as well as its ruins

THE IMPERIAL ROME
The maximum circus
The Palatine complex and Roman Forum
The Colosseum, majestic outside
It overwhelms you just to imagine what it was ...
... and what remains

SAN CALIXTO CATACUMBS
One of the great essential visits
Claustrophobic visit of what were the catacombs
They were buried on the outskirts of the city ...
… to the dead
Descent several meters above the ground.

THE KNOWN VATICAN
Beautiful St. Peter's Square…
... between the two colonnades
Essential visit to the Dome for its views
Architecturally Amazing Basilica
The cradle of the Catholic Church.
