Shopping in Amman

It starts to cost to put everything in the suitcase. It's something I've always wondered, why when we come everything enters the millimeter and when there is no one who fits anything? Is it for all the purchases we usually do? Is it a matter of demotivation that we become and we don't care? Or is it that I am a mess packing? (Or a little of the three, sure). The fact is that very early we had breakfast, packed the suitcase and headed to Amman.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This newspaper was made on the v1 of this website, when we wrote only and exclusively for the family, so it is not as complete as the rest. However, you will find much more information about Jordan in the travel guide to Syria, Lebanon and Jordan from 2009

Between Aqaba and Amman there are 380 km of good road. It was a trip in which each one went with our thoughts and barely talked. Some slept, others listened to music and I looked out the window. You may not step on these lands again.

We arrived before eating at the hotel. We settled down and headed for a taxi to Amman Souk, to the "downtown". Today is shopping day. There people are also very friendly and not heavy as in some other tourist souk. Well, although it really isn't a souk like the one we all think, it's more of a shopping area ...

We spent the day leaving us the last Jordanian dinars we had left. I was especially excited to find Iraq's bills that were already obsolete with the face of Saddam Husseim. And in all trips I like to keep some currency and souvenir ticket, but I did not expect to find these ...

Haggling in the Souk is not difficult, although you always have a bit of a face to say ... "How many times will they have scammed me?" I guess they will start asking you 10 times what it is worth and haggling we get to pay "only" 5 times more. Anyway ... as to give negotiation classes we are now ... After eating a sandwich in the street we also take the opportunity to have some sweets in one of the best places in the "Downtown".

Tomorrow we leave early, so we have to go back to the hotel to finish the happy suitcase and have dinner. We also return by taxi (!! for half the price of the trip! Anyway ...).

The trip is over. Good night family. Goodnight everyone.

Isaac, from Amman (Jordan)
