Riding the Irrawaddy

I read somewhere that said George Orwell, who served in the British colonial police, that the Irrawaddy River It shone as if it dragged diamonds. Maybe the times are not what they were and the water falls more dirty but today's trip has allowed us to see the life that revolves around this river, the main one in Burma.

We arrived at the pier at 6:30, a new madrugon. The fog invaded everything. Even so we sailed downstream until they realized that the fog lights shone from their absence, they had not reached the country. We were anchored to a sand islet. The fog gradually lifted and showed a huge reddish sun on the horizon.

We could use a rest day to get energy. For everything that awaits us: THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL TABLE OF BAGAN !! Q WIN !!!

Until he came back. The local people collect, the women put their baskets on the head, the boats leave the river to approach the shore and in the distance the sun, as large and bright as ever, gives us a beautiful "see you tomorrow". It is the time of day, the only one where thoughts are relativized and you feel so insignificant in that spectacle of nature.

Solete, music, eat overboard, write postcards, read ... A perfect day to disconnect from the world.

It is a gift, as the song says, a gift to open, that accompanies us every day of travel. A gift to share. With another unique sunset, like all that this country gives us

!! WELCOME TO BAGAN !!

Isaac, from Bagan (Myanmar)
